Important Stuff…
AUMC does NOT provide formal training or instruction in any outdoor activity. The club is an association of like-minded people with an interest in outdoor sports, and is not a commercial operation. The AUMC members leading official club trips are NOT instructors and do not necessarily have formal outdoor qualifications. Club members that wish to obtain instruction should arrange this with a qualified commercial provider. AUMC only run events as an opportunity for like-minded people to do their outdoor sports together, which means that all participants must have a prior understanding of how to participate in the sport safely and without instruction. Sometimes members are required to pay for trip expenses such as fuel, equipment hire/maintenance, food, campsite fees and any other expense of running an event. Trip organisers, leaders and assistant leaders are not paid to run trips and trips are not run for profit.
