Car Crash Quarry
Organiser: Tamara, Jacob
Meet At: Cloisters at uni
Hey team, get ready for another awesome outdoor climbing day! We will be running a trip to Car Crash Quarry this Sunday (2nd Sep). The routes here are bolted so we will be practicing mostly Sport climbing. We’ll also have our slacklines out so you can practice your circus routine.
This event is for beginner/intermediate climbers who are comfortable with top roping and have been to VRC at least once.
We will meet at the Cloisters at 10am and will go to car crash from there. Bring lots of snacks, sunscreen, a hat and plenty of water (no running water there). Also bring warm clothes as it could get cold later in the day. We will hang around until about 6pm or when everyone is too exhausted to climb any more.
For those new to car crash it is located in a disused quarry. To get there you travel up Old Belair rd and park in the first gravel layby which is on both sides of the road. From there you will see a steep track at uphill end of car park, the crag is just 50 meters up the path.
We have ropes and helmets but if you need a harness and shoes please collect from VRC before Sunday. Also please bring $5 for petrol money for your driver, or for the club to upgrade gear.
Any questions or to know if this trip is suitable for you please message Tamara Bullock, on 0403877672.
See you out there!
From Tamara and Jacob 😀
