Climber's Track

Meet At:

Hello fellow Mountain Clubbers,

Come along this Sunday for a fun day of outdoor climbing, slack-lining, and chilling out in the bush!

This will be a perfect opportunity to try outdoor climbing (top-roping) if you have never tried it before; all we require is that you have climbed indoors in a gym at least once before so know how to belay safely. If you haven’t climbed indoors before, not to worry! You can drop into Vertical Reality Climbing on Holden Hill for a session before Sunday. (Tuesday nights is the AUMC discounted entry – $12).

• Bring: warm clothes for when you’re not climbing, raincoat if you have it, water bottle and lunch. AUMC provides climbing gear including shoes.

• Meet at the Cloisters at Uni at 11am and we’ll carpool to Morialta. If you prefer to meet us there please just message Andreas.

• Contact Andreas with any questions on 0435 759 715

• Registering is compulsory to come on the trip, and please register soon as we have limited climbing gear- you don’t want to miss out!

Hope to see you there!

Andreas and Amity

This event is fully booked.

I had a few questions, I would love to join but I have never done rock climbing before. At home I have done some indoor climbing, but I don’t have my top rope cenrtificate or anything like that. Is that oke, or do I need to climb in a hall here as well?
Secondly, I was wondering if we need to pay anything? Gas I suppose, but anything else?
Lastly, does the gear also includes shoes, or are just running shoes or something like that good enough?
    Thank you!
    And hopefully till Sunday.

If you belayed climbers back home that should be fine. We are just looking to have people with at least an introduction to how to belay.
$5 will cover gas and gear for the day including shoes.
Looking forward to seeing you out there,

    Hi there,
Me and my friend would like to join on sunday! Only one thing I am wondering about: my friend is visiting me for three weeks and she thus does not have (nor want) a membership. Can she come for 5 dollars as well? Or are there any extra costs? Thank you in advance.

      Hey Lauren,
Sorry only bad news, unfortunately membership is pretty important. Membership pays for and is required by our insurance so in the event of something happening to your friend while we were climbing it would be potentially pretty damaging to the club and isn’t really a risk we can take sorry. Also this event has booked out but we will do our best to run more climbing trips soon particularly as the weather improves.
Sorry again, hope to see you next time.
