Meet at the Cloisters
On Sunday 11th December we will be running a bike and beach trip. The mountain club has a small selection of bikes to use however you are more than welcome to use your own. This event will be open to all levels and is a great way to meet some of the club members before many of the other holiday break trips the Mountain Club will be running.
This event is NOT in competition with the Mylor Conservation Park trip, but if that one is fully subscribed, or you cannot attend, then this may be a low key alternative!
We will meet at the Cloisters at 10.00am and leave about 10.30am after checking bikes etc. Bring your bathers and a towel – the weather should be fine. Forecast 27 degrees. Sunscreen, money for food, or a picnic lunch in a small backpack would be good, also drink bottle, sneakers or similar, hat and long sleeved (sunsmart) top would be sensible. We will follow the bike track to Henley Beach and then down to Glenelg, returning in the afternoon. The trip is about 17km one way, and will take about one hour each way. The route follows the bike track along the Torrens river, and then along the coast to Glenelg. It is flat most of the way on sealed bike tracks and roads which are not busy. There is usually a good breeze and it should be an excellent day!
