Meet At: Waterfall Gully carpark
On Wednesday 30th November we will be running a night hike around Waterfall Gully. This event will be open to all levels and is a great way to meet some of the club members before many of the other holiday break trips the Mountain Club will be running. It won’t be your typical hike to Mt Lofty summit. For a bit of extra excitement and adventure we will be following some of the less used tracks and even a small amount of bush bashing.
The hike is about 6 km and is very steep in some places. You will need to bring, snacks, water bottle, warm clothing, head torch and hiking boots or sneakers. Some places are exposed and can get very windy so also bring a rain jacket or windproofs if you have them. Remember that the trail is narrow and in some places we will be going off the trail so dont bring your best clothing that might get scratched.
We will be meeting at the main carpark at the end of Waterfall Gully Rd at 1800h and starting the hike at 1810h. Its hard to say how much time it will take us but i estimate that we will be back at the carpark around 2100h.
Its a really awesome hike and seems very remote even though its next to the very popular Mt Lofty summit hike. If you’d like to attend but need transport, post on our Facebook page and hopefully someone is driving in the same direction and can offer a lift. If you have any question email me (Steve) at firstname.lastname@example.org
See you there.
This event is fully booked.
