Date(s) - Fri 28/10/2016 - Sun 30/10/2016
9:30 am - 4:30 pm
Newland Head Conservation Park
Organiser: Serge Petrescu
Meet At: Adelaide University Cloisters
Cost: $30 approx
The Fleurieu long weekend trip was postponed due to severe weather and a few of us agreed to run this trip from 28-30 Oct instead. The south Fleurieu coast will be even better (and warmer) then, with Spring in full swing. Activities include camping, bushwalking, sightseeing, campfire cooking and maybe even some music. The coastal landscape and fauna are very striking and picturesque in this region, and they are favoured by photographers.
At this stage, the plan is to camp at Newland Head Conservation Park but we may need to adapt our strategy depending on what is available. There are several parks in the area with camping facilities. There is also the possibility of spending Friday night in one location and Saturday night in another. If you have work/uni commitments on Fri, I encourage you to come down and meet us on Saturday morning/afternoon. We will not be very far from Adelaide – less than 2 hours by car. (more information after photographs below)
All drivers and prospective passengers please meet on Friday morning (28 October), by 10am at the latest, at the Adelaide Uni Cloisters. We will travel down to Newland Head Conservation Park and assess the camping situation. It is important that we stay in contact so please provide a phone number when you register. If you are driving there, please consider helping us with transport and you will be assisted with your fuel costs by any passengers you take.
Please let me know ASAP if you need a tent, sleeping bag and/or sleeping mat. They tend to get booked in advance so I will need to arrange with the gear officer to set aside gear for us.
Bookings are closed for this event.
