Meet At: 10am
The club will hold an outdoor rock climbing day this Sunday (23rd Oct), at Morialta Conservation Park in the Adelaide hills.
This event is suitable for experienced rock climbers, and climbers who have been indoors but wish to try climbing on real rock. To participate you must be a member of the AUMC, and should have at least some previous climbing experience (for instance indoors at Vertical Reality Climbing). The type of climbing we will be Top Rope, and we will set up a range of climbs to suit everyone’s level.
At the moment BOM is predicting a sunny day with max of 19 which should make for a nice day climbing however if the weather turns for the worse again, we will notify via the Facebook page.
When registering for this event, please indicate whether you have your own harness and climbing shoes, or will need to borrow club equipment. Also indicate if you have your own transport, whether you have room to give other people a lift, or you require transport.
For those requiring transport, you can meet the bottom of Norton Summit. There is a Romeo’s Foodland on Magill Rd just before Penfold rd/St Bernard’s Rd which should be easy to get to from town on the B10 bus. If you need a lift please let us know and we can pick you up from there at 9.40. For everyone else the climbing area is located within Morialta Conservation park, but is accessed from Norton Summit road, rather than the main conservation park car park. We will meet up at the climbers tracks gates off Norton Summit Rd at 10am.
On the day, please wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in, bring plenty of water, sun protection, and food for lunch plus snacks. Also bring warm clothes in case the temperature drops later in the day, and a pair of thongs/slip on shoes to wear in between climbs (and perhaps a more sturdy pair of shoes for walking down to the cliff encase it is muddy and slippery)
Contact Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
Hope to see you there!
This event is fully booked.
