Meet At: Adelaide University Cloisters
Cost: $30 approx
Celebrate the long weekend and the mid-semester break in AUMC-style with a trip to the south Fleurieu coast. Activities include camping, bushwalking, sightseeing, campfire cooking and maybe even some music. The coastal landscape and fauna are very striking and picturesque in this region, and they are favoured by photographers.
At this stage, the plan is to camp at Newland Head Conservation Park but we may need to adapt our strategy depending on what is available over the long weekend. There are several parks in the area with camping facilities. There is also the possibility of spending Saturday night in one location and Sunday night in another.
All drivers and prospective passengers please meet on Saturday morning (1 October), by 10am at the latest, at the Adelaide Uni Cloisters. We will travel down to Newland Head Conservation Park and assess the camping situation. It is important that we stay in contact so please provide a phone number when you register. If you are driving there, please consider helping us with transport and you will be assisted with your fuel costs.
Please let me know ASAP if you need a tent, sleeping bag and/or sleeping mat. The long weekend will likely have gear booked for other trips so I will need to arrange with the gear officer to set aside gear for us.
Bookings are closed for this event.
