Meet At: Cloisters or make your own way
The club will hold an outdoor rock climbing day this Sunday (20th of March), at Morialta Conservation Park in the Adelaide hills.
This event is suitable for beginner rock climbers who have been indoors but wish to try climbing on real rock. To participate you must be a member of the AUMC, and should have at least some previous climbing experience (for instance indoors at Vertical Reality Climbing this Thursday).
When registering for this event, please indicate whether you have your own harness and climbing shoes, or will need to borrow club equipment. Also indicate if you have your own transport, whether you have room to give other people a lift, or you require transport.
For those requiring transport, you can meet at the Adelaide University cloisters at 9:30am, or if that is inconvenient I will try to arrange a lift with someone who has a car and lives close to you. The climbing area is located within Morialta Conservation park, but is accessed from Norton Summit road, rather than the main conservation park carpark.
On the day, please wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in, bring plenty of water, sun protection, and food for lunch plus snacks. Also bring a jacket in case the temperature drops later in the day, and a pair of thongs to wear in between climbs.
This event is mainly geared towards beginner climbers, however we will have a couple of more challenging routes set up. Please note that there will be a climbing competition on at Vertical Reality Climbing on the same day which should be a lot of fun, and if you’re interested (as a beginner to advanced climber) definitely consider signing up to that too.
This event is fully booked.
