The club will hold an outdoor rock climbing day this Sunday (24th of January), at Car Crash Quarry in Belair.
This event is suitable for rock climbers who have been indoors before and wish to try climbing on real rock. We will be doing some sport climbing, but less experienced climbers will be able to effectively toprope climbs that have already been lead. There will be some more challenging routes for more experienced climbers to tackle. To participate you must be a member of the AUMC, and should have at least some previous climbing experience.
When registering for this event, please indicate whether you have your own harness and climbing shoes, or will need to borrow club equipment. Also indicate if you have your own transport, whether you have room to give other people a lift, or you require transport. For those requiring transport, you can meet at the Adelaide University cloisters at 9:30am, or if that is inconvenient I will try to arrange a lift with someone who has a car and lives close to you. The climbing area is accessed from Old Belair road.
On the day, please wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in, bring plenty of water, sun protection, and food for lunch plus snacks. I’d also recommend a pair of thongs to wear in between climbs.
Bookings are closed for this event.
