Meet At: Cloisters or make your own way
The club will hold an outdoor rock climbing day this Sunday (3rd of January), at Morialta Conservation Park in the Adelaide hills.
This event is suitable for beginner rock climbers who have been indoors at least once before and wish to try climbing on real rock. There will also be some more challenging routes for more experienced climbers to tackle. To participate you must be a member of the AUMC, and should have at least some previous climbing experience, keeping in mind that you will get a discounted rate at Vertical Reality Climbing this Thursday night.
When registering for this event, please indicate whether you have your own harness and climbing shoes, or will need to borrow club equipment. Also indicate if you have your own transport, whether you have room to give other people a lift, or you require transport. For those requiring transport, you can meet at the Adelaide University cloisters at 12pm, or if that is inconvenient I will try to arrange a lift with someone who has a car and lives close to you. The climbing area is located within Morialta Conservation park, but is accessed from Norton Summit road, rather than the main conservation park carpark.
On the day, please wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in, bring plenty of water, sun protection, and food for lunch plus snacks. I’d also recommend a pair of thongs to wear in between climbs.
Bookings are closed for this event.
