I am planning a trip to Tasmania this mid-semester holidays to hike The Western Arthurs. The trip will be 10-14 days in total during the midsemester break. I plan to travel there around the 20th-ish of Sept and arrive back around the 2nd of October.
The Western Arthurs is possibly the best hike in south-west Tassie and one of the best in Australia. The hike will take approximately 7-10 days depending on the weather and physical condition of the hiking group, leeway for an 11th day would be preferable. The estimated cost will be only be $350-400 for return flights, hire car (for 5) and petrol. Additional accommodation will be extra. Well worth it for seeing some of the most amazing scenery in Australia and quite arguably the world.
Hiking experience and good physical condition are both absolutely necessary as the hike is considered difficult and can be quite dangerous. The hike is absolutely fantastic and will be an experience you won’t forget. Photos can be found online or on my post on the AUMC Facebook page. If you are interested in coming on this hike please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or text/ call me on 0403 537 867. You can also message me on Facebook (Arland Gillam Grant). I am looking for a minimum of two more people for this hike (it would be nice to have a group of four or more). Please get in contact with me ASAP if you are interested – the further ahead we book flights etc. the cheaper and easier to plan the trip it is.
