Meet At: Cloisters at 9:30am or make your own way
Weather permitting, the club will hold an outdoor rock climbing day this Saturday (29th of August), at Morialta Conservation Park in the Adelaide hills.
This event is suitable for both beginner and experienced rock climbers, and climbers who have been indoors but wish to try climbing on real rock. To participate you must be a member of the AUMC, and should have at least some previous climbing experience (for instance indoors at Vertical Reality Climbing this week) and be comfortable with belaying and tying in.
When registering for this event, please indicate whether you have your own harness and climbing shoes, or will need to borrow club equipment. Also indicate if you have your own transport, whether you have room to give other people a lift, or you require transport. For those requiring transport, you can meet at the Adelaide University cloisters at 9:30am, or if that is inconvenient I will try to arrange a lift with someone who has a car and lives close to you. The climbing area is located within Morialta Conservation park, but is accessed from Norton Summit road, rather than the main conservation park carpark.
On the day, please wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in, bring plenty of water, sun protection, and food for lunch plus snacks. Also bring warm clothes in case the temperature drops later in the day, and a pair of thongs to wear in between climbs. There’s an option to go to the Summit Hotel for dinner afterward.
If you are experienced with setting up top ropes and are happy to help out, please let me know in the comment field! The size of the trip will be limited by transport and the amount of equipment we have.
This event is fully booked.
